Welcome to the Troemel lab website! We’re at the University of California-San Diego, in the Division of Biological Sciences, Section of Cell and Developmental Biology. We’re located on the 4th floor of Bonner Hall.
Our focus is on host/pathogen interactions, understanding the strategies that pathogens use to attack their hosts and how hosts defend themselves against these attacks. We also are interested in understanding the cell biology underlying these interactions, as well as the evolutionary events that shaped them. The system in which we study host/pathogen interactions is the nematode C. elegans, shown in the photo below.
