Cell and Developmental Biology: Research Topics

From single cell to multicellular organism

Developmental biology is the study of how complex multicellular organisms develop from single celled zygotes, and encompasses gene expression, cell fate determination, pattern formation, and morphogenesis. Labs in the CDB section study these questions in several classic model organisms, including Dictyostelium, C. elegans, Drosophila, zebrafish, mice, and the model plants Arabidopsis and maize.
