This year's retreat will be held from 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 7, until 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Conference Center in Lake Arrowhead, CA.
Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is situated at an elevation of 5,106 feet in the San Bernardino National Forest along the shores of picturesque Lake Arrowhead, with plenty of fresh air and clear-blue sky. The San Bernardino National Forest is home to seven different ecosystems and has more rare and endangered species than any other national forest. The National Forest is also one of the most heavily recreated forests in America. You can get more information about the resort at their website. The resort will provide dinner on Sunday, all meals on Monday, and breakfast on Tuesday, as well as a cocktail hour each evening. Please reserve your spot early as we expect to fill up quickly. Program Preview: Keynote speaker: Mark Estelle (Incoming UCSD faculty member) Fourteen faculty speakers including Darwin Berg, Senyon Choe, Partho Ghosh, Martyn Goulding, Randy Hampton, Steve Hedrick, Jan Karlseder, Jill Leutgeb, Stefan Leutgeb, James Nieh, Maho Niwa, Amy Pasquinelli, Emily Troemel and Lei Wang. Student / Post-doc speakers include: Jamie Gregory (Kit Pogliano lab), Tracy Dixon-Salazar (Boulanger lab), Beth Shafer (Zou lab), Seema Lakdawala (Weitzman lab), Luciano Matzkin (Markow lab) and Dan Anderson (Hetzer lab - Featured Student Speaker).
