State law and university regulations require that all students and employees working in our laboratories be given certain types of training, and that we document the fact that such training was given. You must take care to complete the required training checklist and then give it to the head or safety contact person in the lab where you will be working. It will be kept on file there.

The five types of training listed at the top of the form under "General Safety" are required of everyone. The training sessions are given by Environmental Health and Safety, and you must attend this training. Sessions will be provided near the beginning of every quarter.

Additional types of training may be required depending on the kind of work you will be doing. Speak to the safety contact person in the laboratory where you will be working to find out the specifics.
