Winter 2010 New Transfer Students

New Transfer Student Information Session

Congratulations on your admission to UCSD and welcome to the Division of Biological Sciences!

While making the transition to UCSD may seem overwhelming, keep in mind that help is available from the Division of Biological Sciences.
You are invited to a special Information Session specifically for new winter 2010 transfer students.
The scheduled dates are:

Monday, 11/30/09 at 9:00am
Wednesday, 12/2/09 at 1:00pm

The presentation portion of the session generally takes about 45 minutes.  There is an optional (but highly recommended) individual advising opportunity after the presentation.  There is sometimes a wait for advising, so please plan accordingly.

The sessions will take place in 3500 Pacific Hall.  See the campus map for directions (hint: you can search for Pacific Hall).  You can purchase either a parking pass or you may choose to park at a meter.  For visitor information regarding parking click here.  Parking lots P102, P103 and P104 are the closest to Pacific Halll. You will need a parking pass for lots P102 and P103; lot P104 has some metered parking available. Finding a parking space at UCSD can be difficult, so please arrive early!

At this information session we will discuss the things you need to know before you start your first quarter at UCSD. This session is designed to supplement the Biological Sciences major portion of the on-line orientation sponsored by your college.

Topics to be covered
*Major requirements
*Transfer courses and equivalency
*Schedule of Classes-How are biology courses scheduled? How do you enroll?
*What biology courses are offered and when?
*Prerequisites
*Wait lists-What happens when you can't enroll in a class?
*What course(s) should you take your first quarter?

Biological Sciences Undergraduate Advisors will be available at each information session.  We look forward to meeting you.

In order to attend the information session, you must register.
