Cell and Developmental Biology: Research Topics

Cell Biology

The form and function of cells

The cell is the fundamental unit of life. Laboratories in the CDB section investigate a wide range of processes in eukaryotic cell biology, including the cytoskeleton, transport, membrane trafficking, signal transduction, protein degradation, nucleocytoplasmic transport, cell motility, and cell division. Cell biology labs use an eclectic set of technical approaches, combining genetics, high-throughput screening, in vitro reconstitution, electron microscopy, and live imaging.
