Winners of the mentorship and fellowship award for the school of biological sciences

UC San Diego’s School of Biological Sciences has announced the 2022 winners of its graduate student mentoring and endowed fellowships.

As part of a focus on mentorship during the recent BioSciences Community Day, 2022 Biological Sciences Graduate Student Mentorship Awards (an honor that includes a monetary prize) were given to Corrina Elder, Ugbad Farah, Rachel Kandel and Jasmin Revanna for their dedication to successful mentoring. The awardees were selected based on nomination letters from their principal investigators. The awards are funded by the Pathways in Biological Sciences (PiBS) training program, a National Institutes of Health-supported initiative to train a new generation of biology graduate students.

Additionally, several endowed fellowship winners were announced.

  • Goeddel Endowed Fellowship: Henry Baker, Todd Chou, Crisandra Diaz, Eray Enustun, Rachel Kandel, Andrew Kapinos, Ashley Kim, Brian Stack and Jinhao Xu.
  • Kavli-Helinski Endowed Fellowship: Yusi Chen, Jasmin Revanna, Giulia Livrizzi and Yu Zhang
  • McElroy Fellowship: Onyeka Chukwudozie and Emily Armbruster
  • Ruth Stern Fellowship: Chloe Welch
  • Marguerite Vogt Fellowship: Saroj Gourkanti

Congratulations to all of this year’s mentorship and fellowship winners.
