Biological Sciences Wins Diversity Award

On Dec 3, the division was honored at a Diversity Award ceremony, by the Chancellor and the UCSD Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action & Diversity committee. The division received a Campuswide Diversity Award and was recognized as a UCSD Community Champion for outstanding efforts in furthering the spirit of diversity, equal opportunity and affirmative action at UCSD. The nomination included recognition for the division's participation in activities that promote cohesiveness and a sense of community, including Veterans (armed forces) and gay pride events, cultural and ethnic celebrations, sporting events, and advocacy for those with physical disabilities.
