Since the UC San Diego School of Biological Sciences Co-Op Program began in 2021, 22 students have launched meaningful careers through paid year-long internships with our founding partner, Catalent San Diego, a global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) advancing innovative therapies for patients worldwide. From quality control and analytical development to process engineering and manufacturing, students gained hands-on experience while developing the technical expertise, confidence, and professional skills needed to succeed in the life sciences industry.

Nearly 25% have been hired into full-time roles at Catalent San Diego after graduation, while many advanced their careers with other leading science and technology companies, including Insmed, Applied Materials, and TSMC. Another 25% have gone on to top-rated graduate and professional programs, including UC San Diego Health Pharmacy Residency Program, University of Southern California, New York University, Northeastern University, and University of Maryland.
